Really, though, he shouldn’t have been even slightly stitious, namely because superstitions are super stupid. In other words: The Universe is indifferent to the happenings of your life.

If you think breaking a mirror will send you down a path of bad luck for the next seven years, 1) you’re wrong, and 2) why would you go down that path? The number 13 is just another number in an infinite series of numbers. Throwing salt over your shoulder is going to bother the person behind you. Keeping a rabbit’s foot in your pocket is weird. Knocking on wood hurts – wood is not a forgiving material.

However, if a ladder does ever come between you and your destination, don’t walk under it. That’s just common sense.
